Twisted cherry ribbons
1 package of puff pastry (pure butter)
1 small bowl of cherries
Raw almonds or walnuts
Sugar for dusting
1 egg yolk or 1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon milk
Rince and pit the cherries. Tuck an almond or a quarter of walnut in the cherry. Roll out the puff pastry on the work plan. Cut it into pieces of 4 cm to 8 cm and place a cherry in the center of each rectangle. Pinch both ends of the dough and twist them slightly to form a ribbon.
Arrange the twisted cherry ribbons on a large ovenproof dish, lined with baking paper. Glaze with the stirred together egg yolk and milk (or honey and milk). Sprinkle generously with sugar.
Bake the cherry ribbons at 180°C until golden brown. Serve slightly cooled.
