Chocolate and walnut cookies
On the recipe of my Philippe, as well as made by him
Ingredients:
110 g soft butter
1 big egg
60 g of sugar
60 g of brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon of natural vanilla extract
225 g flour
1 pinch of salt
5 g of baking powder
175 g chopped dark chocolate
100 g crushed walnuts
Preparation:
Whisk the butter and both sugars in a bowl until creamy. There is no need to use an electric mixer. Gradually add the vanilla extract, the egg, flour, salt and baking powder. Finally, stir in the walnuts and chocolate.
Cover a large baking dish with greaseproof paper. Shape small balls of dough using two spoons. Leave enough space between them.
Bake in a mild oven, at 170°C, for about 8-10 minutes or until the cookies are nicely browned. Leave aside to cool on a bamboo mat or on a grill.
