Pear and goat cheese appetizer
Ingredients for 2 people:
200 g fresh goat cheese, farmer’s
2 tablespoons agave syrup (or honey)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons white port (or cognac)
Black pepper
4 sprigs fresh thyme
1 handful of walnuts
1 or 2 pears
Preparation:
Cover a large baking dish with a sheet of parchment paper and preheat the oven to 220°C. Cut the pear in half and the goat cheese in 2 slices, about 2 cm thick.
Place the pears on the dish, leaving enough room for the cheese. Sprinkle with pepper, thyme leaves and chopped walnuts. Drizzle with white port, olive oil and agave syrup. Bake until lightly browned (10-15 minutes). Then put next to them the slices of cheese, seasoning them the same way. The oven can be set to grill function and its shelf moved to the middle or upper level. Return the dish in the oven and continue cooking for a few minutes (less than 5 minutes, if you use the grill function).
Before serving, let the pears and cheese cool. Then garnish each plate with half a pear (or 2 halves) and a slice of cheese. Pour over a little of the baking sauce and garnish with a green twig.
