Grilled sausage in newspaper
Ingredients for 2 servings:
2 raw sausages (thick)
News paper
Preparation:
I know this technique of grilling meat (chops or sausages) and eggs from a friend from Bansko (a beautiful town in Bulgaria and a world famous ski resort). It is an old recipe or rather a way of cooking in the villages directly on the cast iron stove over a wood fire. Not only is the result delicious, but as a bonus the kitchen remains completely clean!
To do so, completely wet 2 sheets of newspaper (1 per sausage) under tap water. Personally, I prefer to isolate the sausage from the ink of the newspaper and wrap it in a small piece of parchment paper, also damp, before making a package with the newspaper.
Heat a non-stick saucepan and place both packages with the sausages in it. Roast for about 15 minutes, turning the packages 2-3 times through cooking. Moisten the newspapers, if necessary.
Serve the sausages immediately, with a garnish of your choice.
