Chocolate and walnut cookies
On the recipe of my Philippe, as well as made by him
50 g soft butter
50 g of sugar
1 sachet of vanilla sugar
150 g flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon of baking powder
100 g chopped dark chocolate (or chocolate beads)
50 g crushed walnuts
Whisk the butter, sugar and vanilla sugar in a bowl until creamy. There is no need to use an electric mixer. Gradually add flour, salt and baking powder. Finally, stir in the walnuts and chocolate.
Cover a large baking dish with greaseproof paper. Shape small balls of dough using two spoons. Leave enough space between them.
Bake in a mild oven, at 180°C, for about 10-12 minutes or until the cookies are nicely browned. Leave aside to cool on a bamboo mat or on a grill.
